About Piper

I was born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan where the bleak skies and abandoned communities shaped my beliefs in equity, fighting injustice, and using my (very loud) voice. After moving to the Pacific Northwest I began using mixed media, specifically collaging with vintage magazines, to process my (once again very loud) feelings and emotions regarding, well, pretty much anything and everything.

I primarily work with collage because I find that using a medium that is often viewed as childlike and immature to create surreal, occasionally disturbing imagery to be simultaneously healing and a challenge.

My work has been featured in galleries along the West Coast including Slip Gallery in Seattle, WA, Astro Club in Vancouver, BC, and various exhibitions in the greater Portland area.
